Week 1: What is connectivism (Originally sent to Blogger Sep. 09, 2008)

When perceiving what connectivism is ,my approach is: How is learning when it is connective?

LEARNING: life-wide + random + trialogical + networked + inter-cultural + multidisciplinary + distributed + immersive + worldmaking + social + meditated + wayfinding = CONNECTIVE

These elements of learning will form key words for my concept map for the next phases of this course, in order to learn in a connective way, learn what connective knowledge is and to know more.

  1. Your concepts are still the same, I suppose? No need to check or change? Perhaps later?

  2. Choosing the keywords was both an intuitive and a very careful process. I chose 12 keywords for the twelve weeks focusing each on one theme. I left it open – to be solved like jigsaw puzzle during this course – which keyword best describes which week and theme of the course.

So far I’ve experienced that learning during the Week 1 was: Random – navigating through new networks and setting goals and Week 2 was: Social – Choosing the way yo externalize one’s own learning. “Networked” and “Inter-cultural” describe the current phase – weeks 3-4. I’ll return to this later. Thanks for your comments 🙂
